How to create a report

There are two options available to retrieve a report in EC-Navigator®. You can either run a report on-demand or pick up a report at a later time. An on-demand report is best when you expect that the results will be small. If you anticipate that the report will be large we recommend that you choose the option to pick up the report later.

Step 1:  Click on the Reports > Create Reports option from the EC-Navigator menu on the left side of the screen. 

Step 2:  Select the desired report using one of the following dropdown menus in the Report Selection section. 

  • My Templates dropdown menu – Allows you to select a previously created Report Template.
  • Select Report dropdown menu – Allows you to select the type of report you wish to run without using a previously created Report Template. Please note that the reporting options available to you in this section are based upon your user permissions.

Step 3:  Once you have chosen a report, set the available Report Filters to produce the desired results.  Some filters are optional and others are required.  Required filters are marked with an asterisk (*).

If you are using a previously created Report Template and would like to update it with the report filters that you have just selected:

  1. Place a checkmark in the box labeled “Update this Template”.
  2. If desired, update the name of the template.
  3. Click the ‘Save’ button to save your changes.

If you are not using a previously created Report Template and would like to create one using these selected report filters:

  1. Place a checkmark in the box labeled “Save as New Template”.
  2. Enter a Template Name.
  3. Click the ‘Save’ button to create this new Report Template.

Step 4:  Select your report retrieval option:

  • Create a Report: On Demand
    1. Click the ‘Create Report’ button to compile the report. Once loaded, you will be able to view the data in the Report Viewer section of the page.
    2. Use the options available in the Report Viewer section to view, search and export the results of the report as needed.
    3. To reset the report filters, click on the ‘Reset Filters button to return all modified filters to the default values.
  • Create a Report: Pick Up Later
    1. Place a checkmark in the box labeled ‘Pick up this Report later’.
    2. The default File Name will be the title of the selected report and the current date. You can update this name, if desired.
    3. Select the desired file format for the report from the Format dropdown menu.
      • CSV (comma delimited)
      • PDF
      • MHTML (web archive)
      • Excel 2003
      • Excel
      • TIFF file
      • Word 2003
      • Word
    4. If you would like to receive an email notification when the report is ready for pickup, place a checkmark in the box labeled ‘Notify When Ready’ and provide an email address.
    5. Click the ‘Create Report’ button to initiate the report.
    6. The report will generate and be available for download in the Pick Up Reports section for one (1) week. After that time, the report will be automatically deleted.  Note:  Report results can only be picked up by the initiating user.
    7. To reset the report filters, click on the ‘Reset Filters button to return all modified filters to the default values.
